Welcome to my e-portfolio
The purpose of this e-portfolio is to inform you of the diverse knowledge and skills that I have acquired over the years. I am currently working as a System Analyst Statistican for the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District. I also work as a Parttime Instructor for Region One Service Center. I formerly worked as a Master Technology Teacher for the Donna Independent School District. I currently attend The University of Texas Brownsville and I am working towards my Doctorate of Education in Curriuclum and Instruction with a specialization in Educational Technology.
In the past, I worked for the Donna ISD for 7 years; the first year I worked as a Teacher Assistant for the Elementary Levels and was promoted to a Lab Manager within the same year. I worked closely with the professional staff and helped maintain an effective and efficient computer lab setting for teachers and students to enhance their technological experiences.
As I worked with the district, I diligently continued my education by enrolling at South Texas Community College (STCC) and received two Associates Degrees. My first Associates Degree is an Associates of Applied Science as a Computer Specialist and my second degree is an Associates of Science Computer Information Systems. I was then able to transfer to The University of Texas Pan American and received a Bachelors of Business Administration Computer Information Systems.
I continued to work as a teacher assistant and enrolled with the ACT/RGV for preparation for a career in teaching through an alternative certification in order to enhance my essential knowledge and skills in instructional strategies, curriculum planning, and reading instruction which is vital for a successful first year of teaching. After the summer I was hired to teach Business Ventures, Eighth Grade class. Through my teaching, I believed that I was able to inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
I performed duties above and beyond the required skill. I worked with teachers and began to integrate technology into core classes, such as: English, Language Arts, Science, and History. By collaborating with core teachers we were able to enhance our lesson plans with the appropriate technology. Over the years my knowledge and technological skills have improved to a higher standard as I will always be a student of my craft and skill.
In May 2010, I received my Master of Education in Eduational Technology from the University of Texas Brownsville/Texas Southmost College, which gave me the opportunity to purse my doctorate. I am advocate of eduational technology and encourge students, teachers, and administrators to use these innovative tools to enhance student achievement.
